UCSD sorority?

Hi! I've been to your campus and know that the greek scene is pretty big at UCSD but unless you are a timid hermit, it's a stretch to say you have to join a sorority/fraternity in order to have a social life. College is really what YOU make of it, you get what you put into it and joining a greek organization is the same way. I would suggest that you enroll for the formal recruitment (sometimes called "rush") and just keep an open mind. You don't have to join one just because you go through the process. Oh, and the whole scared because friends say they almost flunked out.....well, that happens to many first year students whether they join a social organization or not. Again, it's all about getting out of it what you put into it. For me, I found that my sorority actually kept me more on the academic track than I was before I joined.
