I recommend you look up "self-insert" and "Mary Sue". This is the most derided sort of fanfic out there. Who wants to imagine themself as some character you invented who they have never heard of? The book already has a character who loves Edward for them to identify with. She's called Bella. She's who they looked up Twilight fanfic to read about.
